From May 26-May 30, Las Vegas will be lit up by more lights than usual. Some 17,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the 2008 edition of tradeshow and conference Lightfair International (LFI), which will feature some 500 exhibitors of architectural and commercial lighting products and over 200 hours of educational courses. As part of an extensive rollout of new initiatives, organizers will debut a student outreach program this year. The LFI Student Outreach Program will offer lighting design, interior design, architecture, and engineering students discounts or free admission to Lightfair programming. The package includes free registration for the exhibit hall, free entrance to the Lighting Education Forum, and one free seminar with student ID, in addition to discounted passes for seminars, courses, and the exhibit hall. Students can also volunteer during the event in exchange for free courses.
"The future of lighting and the industry's success also lie in the hands of today’s students being educated in this field," says Elly McCloud, executive director of conference and attendee relations for Lightfair. "This is why we have established the LFI Student Outreach Program -- to groom and partner with tomorrow’s lighting future."
For more information on the outreach program, contact Brianne Jones, conference coordinator, at briannej@lightfair.com or 404-220-2221.
