Peter Marino and William Sofield are among his clients. But Chris Schanck is not interested in materials traditionally associated with luxury nor in perfection. His viewpoint is on display in “Unhomely,” at Friedman Benda in New York March 1 through April 14. The show’s 15 pieces, including the 8-foot-long Arcane Console, exhibit his signature method of Alufoil, which combines resin, steel, and polystyrene.
