2014 Product Trend: The Tactile Bathroom

In the bathroom and kitchen, traditional smooth, white ceramics are being replaced with more adventurous colors and tactile finishes. Italian brand Moab80 has launched a new synthetic cement washbasin called Elle3, whose chalky finish is the result of several decades of research. Italian ceramics brand Cielo has also been hard at work altering the standard chemical composition of its enamels in order to offer its portfolio of sanitary ceramics in a new nature-inspired color palette. Called ‘Terre di Cielo’, the earthy hues offer consumers a warm and tactile alternative to run-of-the-mill white. In the UK, concrete specialists Lowinfo transform everyday concrete into a line of raw yet luxurious washbasins.
