After 30 Years, Artistic Tile Shows No Signs of Slowing Down

Searching for someone to fabricate custom cabinets, Nancy Epstein instead found her calling. Three decades later, Artistic Tile boasts nine showrooms, 200-plus dealers, a sprawling state-of-the-art facility, and a slew of family members sharing the C-suite. Accruing inspiration from around the world, the brand juggles classical and modern motifs with equal aplomb, from the elegant flourishes of Claridges to the windswept texture of Dune.

But rather than dwell on laurels, a busy anniversary year lies ahead: a relocated New York showroom, a revamped website allowing clients to visualize product in specific spaces, and a hush-hush alliance with a design expert. As for all those sexy ads: “Everyone advertised installation shots,” Epstein recalls. “Showing models wearing tile highlighted its intrinsic beauty.”
