Avery Thatcher Explores Freeform Symbols in New Juju Papers Line
Avery Thatcher pays homage to “the simple power of mark-making”—from primitive pictograms on caves to street-art “scratchiti” on subways—in Graffito. Debuting at ICFF, the collection is the latest from Juju Papers, the brand of eco-friendly wall coverings she founded. The four patterns are united by what Thatcher calls “non-fussy abstractions.” Freeform signs and symbols scatter across varieties like Pearl, available in four two-tone colorways. Designs are silkscreened by hand in small batches using water-based inks on sustainably harvested papers with natural clay coating.
