To mark the 90th anniversary of

Calligaris

, its Milan flagship hosted “Variations,” a celebratory succession of installations by Readymade Projects design director Stephen Burks. Colorful ropes transformed the manufacturer’s classic chairs into experimental sculptures, including a totem-pole based on Hero, Archirivolto Design’s air-molded plastic seat from 2009. When it’s not tied up, specify it in red, black, white, orange, light green, or fuchsia.
