Introducing Brackets by Nendo for Kokuyo

Privacy or an open plan, concentration for an individual or a relaxed setting for a group—

Nendo

has conceived a modular sofa design for Japanese manufacturer

Kokuyo

that manages to do it all at the office. The tetrislike Brackets is designed to create a communication space that “brackets its inhabitants like parenthesis.”

Seven sofa and four table modules can be freely combined in a variety of spaces to carefully balance openness and privacy. Its numerous configurations go from rows of alternately facing single seats to compact meeting booths.  Composed of sharp outer lines and softer inner curves, the sofas respect the mood of an office environment—while still being comfortable. The tall backs provide visual privacy and lessons surrounding noise, allowing for focused conversations.
