City Citizen: Hyperrealist Photography by Marc Yankus

Novels by Jonathan Franzen and Salman Rushdie have sported covers by Marc Yankus, but his photography mostly focuses, softly, on the inherent beauty of oft unnoticed New York buildings. His digital collages have a painterly quality—partly due to the fact that before he started shooting, he trained as a painter. However, the hyperreality of his newest works might have you mistaking them for architectural renderings. The 21 pieces are appearing under the title “The Space Between,” at the city’s ClampArt gallery April 3 through May 17.
