Designtex Reveals Over 50 Innovative Fabrics at NeoCon

To explore the relationship between fabric and furniture, Designtex unveiled an installation by Standard Issue. Oppositions: Forms & Fabrics illustrated the transformative power of upholstery when applied to over two dozen timeless silhouettes. For instance, Brushed Flannel polyester in vibrant acid-yellow dressed up Oliver Mourgue’s Djinn love seat from 1965.

Brushed Flannel was among over 50 fabric introductions at NeoCon. In the oversize grid of Measure, cotton sourced from old T-shirts blends with polyester. A gouache on paper by Jenny McGee Dougherty is digitally printed on recycled polyester for Pixel. And Otto, a cluster of irregular polygons, is also recycled polyester.
