In 2014, Mats Inc. partnered with Windmöller Flooring Products to deliver an entirely new class of product. That collection is wineo® PURline, an innovative collection of botanol flooring produced with 90% rapidly renewable and natural raw materials.
Ulrich Windmöller, wineo PURline inventor, achieved this by using a combination of natural ingredients and scientific innovation. Through six years of research and development, he returned to the drawing board to test plants, formulations, and processes. By using advanced technology and precision engineering, his research culminated in wineo PURline, a GreenGuard Gold–certified flooring collection that can sustain the most demanding commercial applications. Able to be mixed and matched, the roll collection comes in 84 nature-inspired colorways such as pumpkin, eucalyptus, and lavender that all nod to the flooring’s organic composition.
Wineo PURline is botanol, a plant-based material that’s both odorless and emission-free. Its ingredients—canola oil from rappa seed, castor oil from castor seed, and chalk—are molecularly transformed to create an eco-friendly polyurethane that serves as a durable nonporous floor covering. The collection’s wear-resistant surface, five times more durable than vinyl, requires little maintenance—no finishing, waxing, buffing, or stripping. A top choice for healthcare projects and other high-traffic settings, wineo PURline won’t negatively impact air quality, energy consumption, or facilities costs.
In response to customer demand, Mats Inc. and Windmöller also introduced the wineo PURline Elements collection, which features planks and tiles with contemporary and realistic stone and wood looks. The collection includes 26 plank and 14 tile color options that offer all the sustainability benefits of wineo PURline.
