Nadia and Gianfranco Dalle Mese learned the leather trade from their father, Giuseppe, who founded the Conceria Montebello tannery in 1967. In 2006, the siblings launched a sister brand with the mission of making hides “the protagonists of interior design,” they explain. This season, the manufacturer enlisted favorite designers to shape Textures, a modular-minded series of PVC-backed tile wall coverings augmented with foam padding. Elaine Yan Ling Ng, founder of Hong Kong textile consultancy The Fabrick Lab, contributes optical-effect Hyperreal. Squares and semi-circles commingle in Semitondo, reflecting Giorgia Zanellato’s fascination with geometry. Rhombuses interlock into a snowflake pattern in Massimo Brancati’s Neige. And Nadia herself gets into the act with Lady N, the interplay between flat and padded surfaces generating shadow and texture.
