Fashion Meets Floor Coverings with Mannington Commercial’s Latest Product Introduction
Carolina Herrera famously observed that “fashion has always been a repetition of ideas, but what makes it new is the way you put it together.” This concept inspired Austin, Texas-based designer Mary Bledsoe and carpet heavyweight Mannington Commercial to team up for STYLIST, a series of strikingly beautiful patterns and colors built to let designers create their own stories. “I think every designer is a stylist at heart,” says Bledsoe. “We created STYLIST to include products with a large degree of subtlety and others with a high degree of patterns that designers can mix and match to suit their project.”
Available in 24” x 24” modular tile, STYLIST’s products are heavily influenced by clothing fabrics: the airiness and undulating transparencies of tulle, the geometric layers of a madras plaid, the classic simplicity and versatility of jersey. The range of these patterns create visual interest in a space that can be used to define different functional areas while maintaining a seamless, cohesive aesthetic. Though each pattern and color is strong enough to stand alone, the fun lies in combining them for endlessly unique and personal arrangements, much like carefully piecing together clothing separates to express one’s unique personality. The combination of layered patterns and colors coupled with Mannington’s reputation for durability and performance makes the new collection especially well-suited for corporate environments.
