Flos Revives Ventosa on Achille Castiglioni’s Centennial
To celebrate the centennial of Achille Castiglioni’s birth, Flos has reintroduced one of his archival light fixtures. Castiglioni and brother Pier Giacomo designed Ventosa in 1962 to illuminate a shop window display, its rubber suction cup base cleverly allowing the LED bulb to be positioned facing up, down, or sideways when adhered to any smooth surface—ventosa is Italian for sucker. The silicone body comes in black or navy, and the lamp overall stands just shy of 6 inches tall.
