Good Thing Test Drives Car-Inspired Vessels During NYC Restaurant Week

Glance at Good Thing’s brand-new collection of tabletop vessels and one may be reminded of the curvaceous forms that define today’s sleekest cars. That’s because each of the G3 Collection’s silicone pieces was designed by Shinya Yoshida, an automobile mechanic turned product designer. Accustomed to thinking pragmatically to solve design problems, Yoshida employed subtle flowing compound curves native to the auto industry. The vessels have manifold uses in offices, bathrooms, and kitchens, but it’s up to the user to decide—each is intended to evoke creativity within their users. New Yorkers can test drive the G3 Collection during NYC Restaurant Week, which lasts through August 17. Order a special dish at Mission Chinese Food and Lalito, both located in Chinatown, and it will be served in the G3 Vessels, which come in in blue black, green, mint, red, and white.
