Grand Rapids Chair Company Enlisted Australians Dale Hardiman and Adam Lynch to Craft Their New Hurdle Chairs and Stools
Slow and steady wins the race. Years after Dale Hardiman and Adam Lynch founded Dowel Jones, the Australian studio’s designs have finally arrived stateside. Grand Rapids Chair Company president Geoff Miller, drawn by the duo’s knack of stripping an everyday product down to its most basic, invited them to Chicago to unveil their Hurdle chairs and barstools. Striking a pose not unlike the obstacles that track-and-field athletes must clear, the tubular-steel frames can be specified in an expanded range of 27 standard powder coats in additional to custom colors. Seats are oiled white oak. grandrapidschair.com
