Harry Allen and Esque Team Up for a Glass Exhibit in New York
An industrial designer and two glassblowers walk into a gallery. . . But “Harry Allen Esque,” at Heller Gallery in New York, April 29 to May 28, is no joke. In fact, it’s the second collaboration for the trio made up of Allen and Esque Studio’s Andi Kovel and Justin Parker, who all first met during ICFF in 2005. Like their first collection the following year, the new series is composed of water jet–cut steel and glass. But this time, most of the pieces are light sculptures—some pendants, others incorporating a tabletop vase—in cheery colors like persimmon.
