Samuel Lawrence Furniture Entrance

Samuel Lawrence Furniture, a Home Meridian International company, will participate in the first Hospitality Designer Day at High Point Market.

For the first time ever,

High Point Market

will include a day that caters specifically to members of the hospitality industry. Called Hospitality Designer Day, the all-day event will be held October 22 in North Carolina and will include showroom visits, seminars, and presentations aimed at hospitality designers. The event, which is is spearheaded by the North Carolina chapter of the

Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH)

, a non-profit networking organization for the hospitality industry, gives designers access to the world’s largest furnishings industry trade show and offers them the chance to familiarize themselves with manufacturers and their products.

“Everyone benefits,” says Karen Appert, steering committee chairperson of the NEWH NC Regional Group. “Showrooms get to extend their reach to hospitality designers and those designers can visit manufacturers’ showrooms on a day that’s focused on the hospitality market and not retail.”

During the event, each showroom will have a least one staff member on site who is well versed in hospitality design to assist designers and answer any questions they may have. “It will give them access to people who know the hospitality industry and its challenges,” Appert says. “Plus, they’ll be accepting orders.”

More than two-dozen showrooms will be participating, including

American Leather

,

Drexel Heritage

,

Kincaid Furniture

,

Samelson-Chatelane

, and

Thomasville Furniture

.

The day will conclude with a cocktail party. Hospitality designers can click here to RSVP for the day’s events. Attendees most also register for a High Point Market pass to attend Hospitality Designer Day. For more information and to see a schedule of events, click here.
