Last night, a well-heeled crowd gathered in Dedar’s Manhattan showroom for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to kick off the 2019 Holiday House NYC designer showcase. Holiday House, founded in 2008 by interior designer and breast cancer survivor Iris Dankner, is an interior design exhibition spanning several weeks. Throughout it, the public has opportunities to mingle with top designers, view products from leading home brands, and raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF).

Dedar’s U.S. flagship showroom, created by Florentine architect and designer Michele Bonan, provided a chic backdrop for the party, hosted by Holiday House. Guests filled the loft-like space, undeterred by the rain outside, mingling amongst the Italian fabric house’s numerous textiles and wallpapers, including its Hermès collection.

“When we opened our first Dedar showroom, about one year ago in the D&D Building, we envisioned a space that was made not only to show our fabric collections, but for the design community to use and enjoy,” says Raffaele Fabrizio, co-owner of Dedar, who flew in from Italy for the occasion. “Events like last night are the perfect fit and we are honored to support Holiday House and its involvement with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.”

Since its inception, Holiday House has held 11 showcases in NYC, four in the Hamptons, and one in London. Participating designers are tasked with creating an uplifting space inspired by a holiday or day of their choice to spread breast cancer awareness and benefit BCRF. “With all of our events, Holiday House aims to show a mix of established designers and rising stars,” says Dankner, who also was in attendance. “Our visitors love seeing the ways that new and classic products and ideas are mixed to create exquisite interiors. Overall, the event is a celebration of beauty and life while supporting a cause that is dear to my heart—the fight to end breast cancer.

The Holiday House NYC opening night gala will take place November 13.
