Jiun Ho and Sandra Jordan Reveal New Collection
Jiun Ho
launched his latest furniture collection, Jiun Ho IV, to a crowd of 300 designers and executives at Ho’s eclectic
San Francisco studio and gallery
last week. A collaboration with Peruvian-born textile designer
Sandra Jordan
, who supplied the upholstery, the collection spans 13 new pieces inspired by raw beauty seen in the landscapes of South America.
“The rugged texture and refined lines of my new collection, Jiun Ho IV, pay homage to the beautiful extremes of South America,” says Ho. Sofas, cocktail tables, dining chairs, armchairs, and benches take cue from the Andes of Peru, the salt flats of Bolivia, and the glaciers of Chile. Pieces like the Magellan chair in raw, sand-blasted oak are balanced by Jordan’s soft Prima Aplaca, which is warmer and far lighter than sheep’s fleece, and does not break, pill, deform or create static.
The other designs include the Puno sofa and armchair, the Osomo table, the Colina sofa, the Cordoba chair and side chair, the Arica console and bench, the Urubamba table, the Chinchero bench, the Atacama table, the Tambobamba table and the Ulu cocktail table.
“Jiun uses the lush texture of Prima Alpaca to enhance the pure line of his Jiun Ho IV Collection,” says Jordan. “His work truly shows the versatility of this precious fiber that dates back to the time of the Incas. It’s been a magical collaboration.”
