Kelly Behun Pops Up at Barneys New York
Fashion week kicks off in Manhattan on September 8. That also happens to be the date that A Kook Milieu, interior designer Kelly Behun‘s pop-up shop, opens inside Barneys New York. In addition to the some 40 home furnishings she’s made exclusively for the Upper East Side retailer, including vases, pillows, stools, and club chairs, the spirit and aesthetic of the late gallerist Holly Solomon—a champion of the Pattern and Decoration movement from the 1970’s and ’80’s—is very much present. Works by Kim MacConnel and Izhar Patkin, two artists Solomon represented, frame the space, which also features a new series of rugs Behun has designed in collaboration with Tai Ping.
