As part of an initiative to foster communication between its team and local and regional A&D communities,

Kimball Office

has promoted its former Western Regional Architecture and Design Manager, Pedro Ayala, to Western Director of Architecture and Design Strategies.

In his new position, Ayala will act as chief liaison between Kimball Office and its clientele west of Chicago, overseeing showroom design, product development, and sustainability initiatives, while Georgy Olivieri will act as Director for the Eastern United States. Notes Ayala of the restructuring, “Georgy and I are in constant contact, and we treat our teams as one. [The regional structure] allows us to better reach out to the market and address distinct regional concerns.”

A LEED Accredited Professional, one of Ayala’s main goals is to provide clients and the A&D community at large knowledge about Kimball Office’s commitment to sustainability. “We’re in a unique situation,” Ayala says. “Today’s clients are very socially and environmentally aware, so my question is, ‘How do we, as a manufacturer, respond to their concerns?’” Respond they have. Since 2009, Kimball Office’s entire portfolio has been certified to the highest BIFMA e3 sustainability standard, which places stringent requirements on materials, energy and atmosphere, human and ecosystem health, and social responsibility.

For Ayala, his new position is an opportunity to spread the word about these landmark achievements: “I have two passions: design and sustainability. Get me talking about those two things, and there’s no stopping me. I’m grateful for this opportunity to reach out to the A&D community.”
