Laminam and Toto Team for Self-Cleaning Tiles

An initial agreement between

Laminam

and

Toto

involved the latter providing a proprietary self-cleaning treatment for the former to apply to its ceramic slabs. Now, the alliance evolves with co-branded tiles. “We aim to combine two cultures into a single product, the result of how each company has been influenced by the other,” Laminam CEO Alberto Selmi says.

A good example is the large-format floor and wall tile Kotan, a tribute to Japanese minimalist architecture. In matte beige or gray, the ceramic surface recalls raw concrete as well as macerated

washi

paper. Dimensions are approximately 3 by 10 feet.
