Lee Broom Illuminates Bergdorf Goodman’s Menswear Windows

Lee Broom has collaborated with luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman to design the store’s prestigious menswear windows during NYCxDESIGN. Located along Fifth Avenue in New York, the four windows examine the habitual life of an everyday man through four themes: Exercise, Work, Play, and Explore. Broom’s lighting fixtures illuminate each vignette, which features Thom Browne’s Summer 2017 menswear collections.

“We wanted to create very surreal versions of ‘A Day in the Life’,” says Broom, who channeled retail design experience from his landmark Department Store at Salone del Mobile 2015. “Although Department Store was more of a pastiche, that experience made it easy for me to present my lighting collection here.” Bergdorf Goodman, one of Broom’s main inspirations, asked him to collaborate on the Menswear windows after being impressed by Department Store.

The windows will be on display throughout NYCxDESIGN and into early June. Check out our interactive map to see more NYCxDESIGN highlights.
