M2L Produces its Own Furniture

The new M2L BRAND line of cabinetry offers sleek, high-end options featuring stained wood veneers and lacquers.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, furniture and accessories distributor

M2L

has unveiled its first-ever collection produced in house, titled M2L BRAND Architectural Cabinetry. The collection, designed for the New York-based company by

Manfred Petri

, features a variety of sleek desks, credenzas and media consoles intended for executive-level offices.

“Manfred exceeded even my own expectations,” said Michael Manes, president and founder of M2L. “I challenged him to develop a new design standard in architectural cabinetry and he took the collection to a whole new level.”

Petri designed the collection without any visible hardware, instead choosing to use a concealed soft-touch slide opening system. In addition, there are recessed bases and raised cabinet tops, lending the product a sleek, modern look.

Stone and leather options target executive offices.

Each piece is crafted of high-grade American hardwood veneers and stains available in standard and custom options and finished with a urethane coating, which adds a natural looking patina. Petri has also provided a selection of countertop materials including aluminum, leather, stone, and glass.

“I loved pushing the design envelope — combining the craft of furniture making with the precision of modern machining,” said Petri.

The launch of the M2L BRAND marks the first time the company has manufactured its own line of furnishings.
