NeoCon: Heart of the Matter

Matter collection by Wolf-Gordon.

Creating textiles is far from an exact science for Mae Engelgeer. “When I started this collection, I had an atmosphere I was aiming for, but it was a bit abstract,” she recalls. “Now when I see the designs together, I think, Yes, this is what I had envisioned.” The vision in question materialized in Matter, a three-pattern suite of luxury wool-blend upholstery fabrics for Wolf-Gordon. Points sports a grid of dots that rise from a softly speckled ground. Merge resembles a traditional cable-knit gently interrupted by perpendicular texture and metallic thread. Mass mimics the flecked surface of terrazzo with a glittery ombré effect.
