NYCxDESIGN Launches Design Corps: Small Business Reopening Network

Restaurant owners—and designers looking to help others—in New York City have a new resource at their fingertips in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. NYCxDESIGNin collaboration with the American Institute of Architects New York chapter, New York City Economic Development Corporation, and Design Advocates, announced today the launch of Design Corps: Small Business Reopening Network to facilitate pro bono design services for under-resourced restaurants.

Design Corps: Small Business Reopening Network works by connecting licensed members of the A&D community willing to volunteer their time with restaurant owners looking to implement outdoor dining in compliance with the City’s Open Restaurant Program. Though the first phase of the initiative provides design services to restaurants, specifically, NYCxDESIGN and its collaborators plan to continue expanding the directory to support more local businesses over time.

To sign up for Design Corps: Small Business Reopening Network and get the latest information as well as detailed guidelines, please visit the NYCxDESIGN website.
