Ombres and Stripes Inform the Electra Rug Series by Mansour Modern

No need to adjust your eyeglass prescription. The pulsating ombres and undulating stripes of the Electra series are exactly as inexact as Mansour Modern owner Benjamin Soleimani intends. “It’s a bit like making a rug without knowing how the design will end up,” he says. He channeled his fascination with color and weaving into the 25 patterns, which put a particularly vibrant spin on the traditional kilim. Flat-woven by hand from vegetable-dyed wool, 2-foot-wide panels are stitched together into rugs. Matching panels can merge into mirror images, while multiple versions can mingle.
