The pulsating ombres and undulating stripes of the Electra series are exactly as inexact as Mansour Modern owner Benjamin Soleimani intends. “It’s a bit like making a rug without knowing how the design will end up,” he says. He channeled his fascination with color and weaving into the 25 patterns, which put a particularly vibrant spin on the traditional kilim. Flat-woven by hand from vegetable-dyed wool, 2-foot-wide panels are stitched together into rugs. Matching panels can merge into mirror images, while multiple versions can mingle.
