Princeton Architectural Press Debuts Architect’s Pencil Set Celebrating Michael Graves’ Palette

The late architect, product designer, accessibility champion, and professor was too a passionate defender of hand-rendering in an increasingly computer-centric profession. “Drawings are not just end products: They are part of the architectural thought process,” Graves once said. Princeton Architectural Press celebrates his drafting acumen, and renowned earthy-rich palette, with An Architect’s Pencil Set: The Colors of Michael Graves. The 24 implements range from the terra-cotta tones of his Denver Public Library to the piquant blue on the handle of his Alessi teapot.
