Property Offers Official Finn Juhl Reproductions by Onecollections

If you’re seeking out the masterworks of Finn Juhl, you could head to Ordrupgaard Museum near Copenhagen. But if Scandinavia isn’t on your itinerary, New York showroom Property is offering official reproductions by Onecollection. The late Danish architect revealed his fascination with contemporary art in Pelican, his 1940 chair with arms drooping toward the floor, and Poet, the 1941 sculptural sofa Juhl designed for his own home. The wavy body of the Baker sofa, 1951, is divided into two sheltering components. Sinuosity extends to occasional pieces such as the teak Butterfly table, 1949, with a pine drop leaf and an inlaid brass plate. Juhl embraced linear Asian forms in Japan, a 1953 suite of seating in walnut or oak. His dalliances with tubular steel netted the Nyhavn table, 1945, while Cubist art influenced a painted wood sideboard from 1955. Juhl morphed into the spherical realm with his orblike pendant fixture and Circle, a hand-tufted wool rug, both from 1963.
