R & Company Inaugurates a New wHY-Designed Gallery in TriBeCa

At R & Company’s new TriBeCa gallery by wHY, “20 Years of Discovery” includes historical and contemporary chairs by the likes of Verner Panton, Wendy Maruyama, and Pierre Yovanovitch. Photography by Joe Kramm/R & Company.

Platinum is often what’s given when celebrating a 20-year run. To mark achieving that milestone, R & Company founders Zesty Meyers and Evan Snyderman instead hired platinum architecture firm wHY to design their new 8,000-square-foot space, a block north of their original TriBeCa gallery (which will continue to operate). Beyond the 1869 cast-iron storefront, three levels of exhibition areas unfold, featuring a 40-foot atrium and a grand Portuguese marble staircase. On view now, fittingly, is “20 Years of Discovery” showcasing the pioneering artists and designers R represents.
