Step Inside Lauren Rottet’s Montauk Home on DesignTV by SANDOW

This week on DesignTV by SANDOW, Interior Design Editor in Chief Cindy Allen caught up with Lauren Rottet, founder of Rottet Studio, for the inaugural edition of “At Home,” a segment spotlighting designers and their homes. Rottet, joining from Montauk, told Allen she was hardly familiar with the area before buying a beach house there in 2011—designed by George Nelson and his partner Gordon Chadwick—which she put her stamp on over the years. Allen described the house as “piece of history,” noting Nelson’s influence throughout the hexagonal rooms that now meld the old and the new. “There are no rules, really,” said Rottet. “I think the only rules are to respect the angles,” she added with a smile.
