Designers Mona Singal of @rua141arquitetura and @zalc.arq think about things differently for Apartment RZ, a São Paulo apartment in need of redesign. The duo focused on upcycling to give new use to the materials found throughout and take the space to new heights. Exposed elements of concrete, pipes, and wiring became the basis for the design, inspiring other industrial elements like the snaking pipes of the chandelier and rebar for bookshelves. ????: @romulofialdini | @sandow

Uprooting its Venice origins for a growing staff, online florist disruptor @thebouqsco recently relocated to a 14,000-square-foot building in Marina Del Rey, California. With structural limitations ruling out full-height walls, @wolcottarchitecture devised an open workplace that incorporates meeting and conference rooms, along with a floral design lab. Most striking is the central freestanding pavilion with a trio of semi-private niches in painted blush rose, daffodil, and pale hydrangea, complete with custom tulip-inspired pendants. ???? by @kimrodgersphotography. @sandow

Each year, celebrated designers transform a luxury Manhattan residence into the @kbshowhouse, an elaborate exhibition of fine furnishings, art, and technology. This year’s iteration, open today through May 31, is no different. Designers went all out, notably @sashabikoff, who dreamed up a technicolor ode to past, present, and future in the grand staircase. Memphis Milano designers @ettoresottsass and Alessandro Mendini are clear influences, as are contemporary makers @chrisschanck and @mishakahn, who both have pieces on display. ???? by @sargentpix, text by @ryanwaddoups. @sandow @therugcompany
