Under the brand name of Walter K., iconic international furniture manufacturer Walter Knoll strikes out on a new path. This coming spring, the brand will open the doors to its first permanent state-side base. Located in New York City’s NoMad neighborhood, Walter K.’s flagship showroom and office will exclusively feature the brand’s exemplary contract line. This will include executive conference tables and desks, conference chairs, and lounge furnishings.

“Contract offers a huge potential for Walter K.’s future development,” explains Bjarki Balle, executive vice president of Walter K. “Our products share the best of both worlds: they combine emotional qualities with the strength of contract products and, thus, fit in just as nicely in residential spaces as they do in the workplace.”

All of the incoming furniture for the U.S. showroom is manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany, assuring the same degree of quality as the brand’s international forefather and parent company, Walter Knoll. The contract line includes pieces designed by such luminaries as Norman Foster, EOOS, PearsonLloyd, Ben van Berkel, Kengo Kuma, and Claudio Bellini.

Walter K. contract designs exemplify that delicate balance of classic, yet avant-garde aesthetic. They have worldwide reach, too. Pieces from the contract collection can be found the world over, from the European Central Bank in Frankfurt to the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. The line can also be found around New York City, its new home, with pieces appearing in the Mandarin Oriental, Thomson Reuters, Seagram Building, Hearst Building, and the Empire State Building.
