We Hear You: David D’Imperio’s Mini Speaker is Louder Than it Looks
Dedicated to reclaiming craftsmanship in a long-commoditized category,
Oswaldsmill Audio
founder and CEO Jonathan Weiss engaged industrial designer
David D’Imperio
to develop Mini, a handcrafted loudspeaker system that might just silence large, mass-produced models. Designed to deliver optimal audio performance in small spaces, the tidy unit is just 14 inches square and 57 high. The proprietary conical horn is cast from aluminum, while the woofer enclosure comes in birch-plywood or bamboo. Like the horn, the carbon-steel stand may be specified in four powder-coats, including white, in addition to custom colors.
