Yvonne Osei Brings Her Ghanaian Roots to St. Louis With “Tailored Landscapes” Exhibit
She may now live in St. Louis, but her Ghanaian roots are evident in “Yvonne Osei: Tailored Landscapes,” on view at her
adopted city’s
Laumeier
Sculpture Park
through March 4.
The performance and video artist, age 27, spent a year photographing people in the park. Then, from those images, she created patterns in traditional African colors to cover a set of 26-foot-tall vinyl photo-murals. There are also “dressing rooms” where visitors can try on jackets in matching prints.
