A Great Match

A large crowd showed up to eat, drink and be merry at Spain’s Great Match in New York last night. Held at the Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th Street, the popular annual event continued to highlight a dizzying array of regional wine and food from top NYC restaurants as well as Spanish design.  Set off by ribbons wrapped around columns, the VIP area featured furniture from Expormim and was larger, more centralized than last year. “I used the ribbons because it is supposed to be ephemeral,” said Laura Alandes, who designed the VIP installation with direction from Interiors from Spain. The event may also be transient, but the effects of its good food, wine and design linger on as witnessed by the number of attendees taking notes and photos.
