Cindy Allen Hosts Keynote at D&D Building Spring Market 2018

On May 30, New York’s Decoration & Design Building hosted Spring Market 2018, centered around the theme Al Fresco; Inside Out. Interior Design editor in chief Cindy Allen hosted a lively chat in Walters Wicker’s showroom with two unique design luminaries and friends, Alexa Hampton and Ghislaine Viñas. “Both of these women come from totally disparate backgrounds, but each has really made it in this big world we call design,” remarked Allen to a packed showroom of designers and enthusiasts. Called She Said, She Said… Inside Out, the discussion touched upon the ins and outs of indoor/outdoor living. Hampton imparted design advice to attendees, including where and how to incorporate high-performance outdoor fabrics. And not only did the trio examine how the indoor-outdoor trend is impacting the trajectory of contemporary design, they also reminisced on standout projects by Hampton and Viñas, including a sumptuous Montauk getaway by the latter published in Interior Design’s Spring Homes 2017 issue.
