Interior Design Celebrates LEPERE and CODAawards at NYDC

Hosted annually at the New York Design Center, What’s New What’s Next always marks an evening of exciting new product releases and industry news. Not one to miss out on the fun, LEPERE, a long-time purveyor of furnishings, lighting, and accessories, opened its new showroom to the public for the first time. On display was the company’s latest furniture collection designed by Piet Boon.

Previously based in the Flatiron district for eight years, owner Dominic Lepere expressed his enthusiasm for joining what is undoubtedly one of the city’s major centers for design. Interior Design editor in chief Cindy Allen welcomed the crowd and congratulated Lepere, saying, “We’ve watched Dominic during this whole progression, and it is such a pleasure to see him arrive at the NYDC scene.”

The evening also celebrated the second annual edition of the CODAawards, featured in the August issue of Interior Design magazine. Only in its second year, the awards celebrate global projects that integrate commissioned art with architecture, interiors, and landscapes. Previously solely operating online, the announcement and the presence of several members of the CODAworx community was a step forward for the fledgling program. As Allen said, “This is the first time we have a physical space for CODA; who knows what the next year will bring?”
