Interior Design Wraps Up 2018’s Workplace Roundtables in Los Angeles
On December 14, Interior Design hosted the final Workplace Roundtable of 2018, an industry-focused discussion on the latest trends in office design. In an intimate gathering at ZGF’s Los Angeles studio, 19 designers, manufacturers, and end-users discussed issues like how to accommodate introverts in today’s collaboration-heavy workplace, the real ROI for providing employees with food/coffee as amenities, and how technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality are being used in the modern architecture firm. Interior Design deputy editor Edie Cohen moderated the conversation.
Over the year, the workplace roundtables have put the real issues facing office design in the spotlight. Topics as diverse as the rise of co-working, the new paradigm of “ancillary is the new primary” (with regards to office furnishings), and the challenges of free-addressing have found insightful answers thanks to the spirited and innovative designers who volunteer their knowledge and passion to these discussions. We look forward to hosting many more incisive roundtables in 2019!
