4 Model Apartments Show Off NYC’s Hottest Residential Buildings

Model apartments open the door to architects’ visions.

1. Firm: Thomas Juul-Hansen.
Project: 505W19.
Site: Chelsea.
Standout: The gray of the adjacent High Line park’s train trestles is very much present in the penthouse model apartment’s kitchen cabinetry in stained white oak.

2. Firm: Selldorf Architects.
Project: 10 Bond.
Site: NoHo.
Standout: Veining in the Vermont statuary marble of the model apartment’s master bathroom picks up on the motif of perpendicular lines established by the exterior.

3. Firm: Fogarty Finger Architecture.
Project: Hamilton House.
Site: Jersey City.
Standout: To entice renters, a unit where the public space benefits from one of the building’s curved corner windows was chosen for a model apartment.

4. FirmDDG.
Project: Xoco 325.
Site: SoHo.
Standout: Cast-aluminum latticework, already entwined with vines, frames views from the model apartment of a converted chocolate factory with an urban-organic vibe.
