Best of LaCantina Winners Announced

Interior Design is thrilled to announce the winners of the second annual Best of LaCantina competition and congratulate the seven winners on their innovative and design-forward submissions. The Best of LaCantina competition drew entries from architects, designers, and materials suppliers from across the United States, all of which seamlessly and stylishly integrated LaCantina’s products into their projects. The structures came from a wide array of typologies and responded to a diverse set of design challenges, but all embody the unique ability of LaCantina’s products to forge a graceful connection between the built environment and the outdoors in the context of luxury.

The finalists include a sprawling yet restrained ranch in South Texas, an architect and artist’s retreat on a 25-foot swath of land along the Long Island Sound, a dynamic pizzeria, a contemporary transformation of a 1950’s bungalow, an expansive mansion awash in natural light, a guest house nestled in SoCal vegetation, and a revitalized urban dwelling on the border of San Francisco’s Mission District.

The Best in Show prize, which was given to Beinfield Architecture’s Trolley House, includes a three-day, two-night trip for two to New York City to explore the vibrant architecture and design scene the city has to offer during AIANY’s annual Archtober event, a festival of architectural activities, programs, and exhibits taking place in October 2018.
