New digital printing techniques have elevated tile to new heights, transforming this time-honored product into an emblem of design possibility. Beginning May 20, 2018, designers attending ICFF can get a firsthand look at the latest boundary-pushing offerings from Ceramics of Italy. The organization, sponsored by the Confindustria Ceramica and the Italian Trade Agency, will host 15 premier luxury brands at booths 2219 and 2319 in New York City’s Javits Center.

What can designers can expect to see at the Ceramics of Italy pavilion? Sleek sanitary ware and large-format porcelains are in style this year. Several of the porcelains accurately imitate the texture and look of marble, wood, concrete, or metals through advances in digital printing techniques. Additionally, these same methods have been used to offer patterned tile collections in a seemingly endless array of size and color options. Botanical, geometric, and Memphis-style motifs dominate the latest offerings, along with designer collaborations, like Marcante-Testa’s Confetti collection for Ceramica Vogue.

Atlas Concorde, Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola, Emilceramica, FAP, Fincibec, Florim, Gruppo Beta, GS Luxury Group, Kale Italia, Marca Corona, Mirage, Refin, Settecento, Vallelunga, and Ceramica Vogue will all be represented at the show.
