Doris Leslie Blau Rugs Go to the Pool in Splashy Photo Shoot

’Tis the season. . .to swim. But when Doris Leslie Blau president Nader Bolour went to the pool recently, he had a different agenda: a photo shoot featuring submerged rugs. “The idea was to show them in a fun environment where our antique, vintage, and contemporary styles stand out equally,” he says. In the contemporary category, Arrow’s irregular stripes resemble a stylized zebra pattern in hand-knotted wool, while Dangelo’s handwoven wool offers an updated take on Turkish kilims. The company’s current assortment of vintage rugs includes a mid-century hand-hooked wool example, with avian imagery flitting across the cream-colored field.
