In Common With Looks to the Cosmos for UFO-Inspired Table Lamp
Earth to designers: Alien, an otherworldly table lamp, has landed. Felicia Hung and Nicholas Ozemba, co-founders of the design studio In Common With, collaborated with Ariana Heinzman, a ceramicist (and Hung’s former roommate while studying at RISD), for the earthenware shade, its UFO shape a happy accident resulting from draping clay over an upturned bowl. A sleek blackened-steel base keeps it grounded on terra firma. Fitted with an LED bulb, the handmade lamp is limited to a 10-piece run. But fear not: Slip-cast versions are coming soon.
