India Mahdavi Debuts Velvet Fabric Collection With Pierre Frey

The Queen of Color has gone under cover. India Mahdavi expands her wide-ranging portfolio of licensed furnishings with a debut fabric collection, True Velvet. Choosing a construction didn’t require much debate: “Velvet is one of the only fabrics that has a very sensual touch but also allows bright and deep coloring,” she explains. Three weights correspond to different qualities of cloth: Fine and Medium, both cotton, and Bold, a cotton-mohair blend. Solid-color options add up to nearly 80 shades, from subtle to saturated. Putting pattern into play are two self-descriptive prints, Diamonds and Stripes, both available in six hues through Pierre Frey.
