Juju Papers Jumps Into Cement Tile With Fruit Salad
Wallpaper expert Avery Thatcher discovers a weightier vehicle for her imagination with Fruit Salad, the Juju Papers founder’s first line of cement tile. But Thatcher is no tile neophyte—she once installed them. “Tile contours traditionally tend to be symmetrical,” she says. “I flipped the script to create something more experimental.” When positioned at random rotations, the 8-inch-diameter hexagons with multicolor wave motifs toss around like, well, a salad. Handmade in Mexico using low-energy, no-fire processes, the tiles are topped with a 1/8-inch-thick wear layer, making them durable enough for residential and commercial applications, inside or out.
