Maison & Objet 2017 to Showcase British Design and Silence Theme

For over 20 years, MAISON&OBJET has inspired thousands of design professionals and helped them discover products tailored to their needs.

With a community of more than 3,200 brands and 80,000 visitors (half of which are international), MAISON&OBJET stands as the leading trade event and meeting place for the world of design and creativity.
 

This year’s show, taking place January 20-24 in Paris, celebrates British design. Leading designers Sir Paul Smith, Tom Dixon, Isle Crawford, Jay Osgerby, Nigel Coates, and Ross Lovegrove all picked their favorite young and rising UK talent to exhibit at the show. The nominators selected up-and-comers Marcin Rusak, John Booth, Gilles Millet, Sebastian Cox, Studio Swine, and Zuza Mangham to display work.
 

Another awaited recognition is the Designer of the Year Award 2017, which will be presented to French designer Pierre Charpin.
 

The January show’s theme is “SILENCE.” This year’s trends go for the silent treatment, getting rid of all things superfluous. Lighter materials, geometric abstraction, transparency, halo patterns, thread-like structures, and ethereal hues enter the spotlight.
 

The fair is divided into three main areas—MAISON, OBJET, INFLUENCES—that embrace visitors’ varied design needs and help them discover new talents. Now M&O is also online with mom – MAISON&OBJET and more – an online, 24/7 directory of MAISON&OBJET exhibitors.
