Martin Brudnizki Puts a Modern Spin on Old Hollywood Glamour for The Britely Social Club

Harkening back to the golden age of Hollywood glamour, The Britely, a social club located on none other than Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, is a tactile example of fabulosity in design. “I always try to infuse a sense of escapism in my work, transporting guests to another world that isn’t too literal or too kitsch,” designer and project lead Martin Brudnizki, founder of his namesake studio shares. With amenities including a restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Wolfgang Puck, bowling alleys, and a performance venue, Brudnizki connects each zone through bold color blocking, plush furnishings, and a combination of geometric patterns mixed with flora and fauna.

“There’s also a sense of Art Deco with a rather opulent color palette, lacquered finishes, and dazzling gold ceilings,” Brudnizki says. In fact, golden accents and hardware punctuate each interior of The Britely in both overt and subtle ways. Between pink feathers, blue velvet, and green tiles and a range of upholstery and wallpaper patterns, the gold details connect and enliven each space indoors and out. “The result is a place that feels sensual and seductive with a notion of old school glamour that is still modern,” Brudnizki explains.
