Stéphane Parmentier’s Tabou Collection for GioBagnara References Tribal Art

Founded in 1999, the Italian leather goods company GioBagnara is known for simple, modern accessories featuring exquisite craftsmanship. Exhibit A: Tabou, a new collection of totems by Stéphane Parmentier, the brand’s multitalented creative director. The designer, an interior architect, logged a formative stint working for Karl Lagerfeld, training evident in each piece. Made in Genoa of fine suede wrapped over a wood frame, the sinuous bronze-base sculptures reference tribal art. The collection comprises five totems up to 28 ¹⁄³ inches tall, the broadest balancing six shapes on a 28-inch-wide platform. Group them to form a luxurious landscape.
