THG Paris Infuses Three New Faucet Collections with French Artistry

France is known the world over for its rich artistic history and celebration of the finer things in life. That verve for aesthetics is still felt today, especially in the country’s contemporary design scene. THG Paris, the leading French atelier of luxury bathroom fittings, refocuses the world’s attention on the strength of Gallic design with three new collections created in partnership with internationally-recognized creatives Arik Levy, Stéphanie Coutas, and Gilles & Boissier.

Each of the collections — Les Ondes, System, and Montaigne — draw inspiration from both timeless and modern looks. The unique vision each of the designers bring to their products is accentuated in production by THG Paris’ longstanding dedication to artisan craftsman traditions, for which the brand has received an esteemed EPV Quality label by the French government (joining a group of other high quality brands like Chanel, Hermes, and Baccarat). Designers interested in specifying a style from any of the collections are offered a selection of 40 finishes, a selection of handle styles, and a variety of configurations for basins, bathtub and shower systems, and matching accessories. It is this commitment to inspired collaborations, protean customization, and top quality that makes THG Paris stand out as a best-in-class brand.

Read on to discover more about the new collections, all of which are available now at THG Paris’ design center at New York City’s Decoration & Design Building.

Inspired by a crystal lighting fixture Gilles & Boissier designed for the Baccarat hotel, Patrick Gilles repurposed that design for the Les Ondes faucet collection. Comprised of a 10-faceted base and a trident-shaped brace, the Les Ondes (waves in French) muses on the similar ways water and crystal play with light. It combines this philosophical inquiry with a classic French geometric style that harkens back to early Modernist aesthetics. This is Gilles & Boissier’s debut faucet collection.

“Creation is an uncontrolled muscle,” explains Arik Levy, one of the world’s most renowned industrial designers and sculptural artists. His collaboration with THG Paris resulted in System, a highly-customizable collection that allows the designer to tap into his or her artistic sensibilities. A wide variety of textures, patterns, materials, and finishes guarantee exquisite permutations that will elevate any bath to luxury levels.

Montaigne Collection

Designer Stéphanie Coutas took a cue from some of the world’s most magnificent architectural examples for her collection, Montaigne. In this collection she features rare Grand Antqiue d’Aubert marble from France’s southwest region, which has made appearances in St. Peter’s Basilica, Versailles, and Napoleon Bonaparte’s tomb. “The Montaigne Collection aims to showcase the French identity of a French material enhanced by French artisans, which can fit into a very contemporary setting,” says Coutas. Combined with Coutas’ sophisticated take on design, informed by her international upbringing, the Montaigne collection re-establishes the elegance of French opulent style.
